English Language

This 3 week (6 weekend Part Time option for Philippines residents) TESOL Program is a full-time immersed teaching English to speakers of other languages. Participants will learn how to design and develop learning strategies and resources and apply mature TESOL methodologies to develop English language skills.

This level is designed for students with limited ability to use English in practical situations and whose vocabulary and use of sentence structure are minimal.  By the end of this course students should be able to communicate at a basic level in a variety of social contexts.

This level is designed for students whose proficiency in English is developing, but with limited vocabulary and grammatical errors which may lead to misunderstandings, and communication is restricted to communication in a familiar context. By the end of this course student will be able to communicate about everyday topics at an elementary level.

This course is based on tasks that will enable students to confidently and fluently communicate about topics relevant to them in diverse communicative and social contexts. By the end of this course students will be able to express meaning in a variety of situations.

This level will give students a solid conceptual and applied understanding of the role of developing all four core skills through collaborative learning. By the end of this course students will be able to speak fluently and accurately as well as develop their writing and reading abilities to a level that will permit them to use the English language with greater confidence.

This study program will give students the skills needed for conducting business in English. The course combines a series of modules which focus on a wide range of business communication skills and practices. It provides not only linguistic but also intercultural and pragmatic competence and instructs students about how to behave in special business situations and contexts. By the end of this course, the students will confidently use English for business purposes through a controlled but relevant environment that will help students reinforce their communicative and presentation skills.

This level is for English for Academic Purposes and is designed to develop and extend the language skills of students who are able to communicate and express their needs and feelings. Student would be able to interpret and analyse material at a sophisticated level and be able to use language appropriate within the specific field of academic studies with a focus towards skills to enter into further studies at a Diploma or Bachelor level.

By the end of this course students will achieve a high level of proficiency in all four macro-skills that will allow them to gain entry into various university programs. The EAP course will raise the students’ competency levels in terms of use of academic language, both written and spoken, with particular emphasis on vocabulary, appropriate use of cohesive devices and essay writing.
